A Little Further Down the Food Chain

I decided to start looking at blogs that are a little further down the Bear's Ecosystem then I normally stroll--blogs that had value that were either new or just hadn't quite made their mark yet. The only rules I had were that they had to already be in the link double digits, that I had never seen them in my own referrer log, and that I liked them. Pretty simple.

Would you like to see what I came up with?

  1. Kudzu I'm not much for photoblogs, in general, but some of the pictures here are really nice.
  2. Aldahlia I disagreed with quite a bit that I read on her site, but I did keep reading. Oddly compelling and with a gorgeous design.
  3. Lex Libertas Good writing. Good blog.
  4. The Sake of Argument C'mon, the picture on the blog is worth the price of admission.
That's enough for now.

If you know of a good blog, one that deserves far more attention than it's been getting but has been around for a bit, let me know.

Hey, glad you found Joe's The Sake of Argument!

Joe is a late-night radio talk host in the D/FW area.

I find his to be a very good blog and a daily stop (when he's not busy having babies).

Yeah, but I didn't want to hold that against him. I liked the blog, how's his show?

Hmm, I'm a loyal Charley Jones listener, so I very rarely get over to listen to Joe (both are on during the deep night, midnight to 4:00am).

But I've heard him fill in for Mark Davis and others over the years, and he does an excellent job. Very reasonable, polite, self-assured but willing to listen to opposing viewpoints.

Sounds like my kind of guy. I'm thinking he'll make it to the Big Ass Blogroll.

What is "the link double digits?" And, hello! Thanks for the mention.

In the Bear's Ecosystem, I decided not to go any further down than blogs that had at least 10 in-bound links. I figure that the blog has to have been around for at least a little bit and that the author had to have at least some interesting content.

It was a completely arbitrary choice, really.

You're welcome, I enjoyed the site.

i try to think of kudzu as so much more than a photoblog... more of a lileks type bleat with photos... maybe i should call it an eclectiblog? oh well..

thanks for the mention... hope you keep reading...

The photos really stood out for me--although I like the idea of "eclectiblog".

Nice work, and, yes, I will keep visiting.

As Kevin pointed out, I've been absent for the past week having a new daughter. As such, I've not been checking my referrer logs and didn't notice the post here until now.

So, please allow me a belated Thank You.
