Quiznos Revisited

When I loudly complained about the Quiznos vermin-oriented ad campaign, I wasn't just complaining here. I also left feedback on the Quiznos site.

Today, I got an answer back from them.

Of course, the link sends me to a Flash animation that features aforementioned vermin.

I still don't like the ads. I still don't like the vermin. I do feel a strange warmth at this incredible joviality in the face of my complaint.

And, yes, a toasty sub sounds pretty good right now.

Hmmm...I don't think I've seen these vermin before. And, yes, they are definitely annoying vermin.

On the other hand, I and my family like Quiznos' subs and will take advantage of their dollar off coupons. Thanks for the pointer!

I love their subs. I hate vermin. It's a difficult position in which to find yourself when you're hungry.

It's not rathergood.com that I don't like. It's vermin selling subs that I don't like. I've giggled at rathergood stuff before.

But those Quiznos ads bother the hell out of me.

The worst part of the vermin is that Quiznos used to have the best ads on TV. "We're like the guy who wore pants..." "Look, he is cursed with the legs of a goat!" "We're like the guy who used a fork..." Damn, that stuff was funny!

These "vermin" are PhotoShopped koala bears. I don't know where the "toasty subs" came from.

Here are the lyrics:
"We love the subs! 'Cuz they are good to us. The Quiznos subs. They are tasty, they are crunchy, they are warm because they toast them. They got a pepper bar!"

I guess you either hate them or love them. I think they are a hoot. And a PEPPER BAR, TOO.

how can anyone hate them??!! theyre so funny! well.. I mean I can understand 'disturbed' but still.. theyre the only reason why I like quiznos.. I really dont like ths subs... they put too much sauce on them. but I want a stuffed spongemonkey. those things are awesome!

Those little guys are merely "sponge monkeys" and they are hilarious. Lighten up people, they arent all that bad. My daughter and I have had unlimited laughing sessions from these silly commercials, and I am all for them! GO SPONGE MONKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah those are **scary** sponge monkeys. i work at a quizno's and they are soooooo freaky. i hadn't seen the commercials till today and i am kinda ashamed of working there haha. but as some people i know say "at least u remember them.." haaha i'd rather not...

I love those spongmonkeys, especially the one who is wearing a pirate hat and strumming the guitar.

I think that they are hysterical. I also hope that someone creates a spongmonkey doll - I'd buy one for me, one for my niece and one for my newphew who pointed out the little varmints to me.

i love the Quiznos subs sponge monkeys they make me laugh and sometimes i wish i could have one just so it could softly sing its scrachy, ear pearsing, and hair raising song in my ears as i go to bed at night. The look of the small creatures is very hard to stomic yes but once you get passed that and their teeth and googly eyes they really are very beautiful animals. Thank you and i shall keep you poasted if i do indeed get a sponge monkey of my own. Dan

Have you guys checked out the new commercial that had the singing sponge monkey with the bowler hat on with little bug wings attached and the one with the pirate hat and accoustic guitar strumming a harp instead of a guitar? They have evolved! Thw world will soon be taken over by flying sponge monkeys! aaaaaagh!

We love the subs! Cuz they are toasty subs! The Quiznos subs! They are so good we'd eat them raw but eating raw subs is barbaric! We are not the huns.

My parents own 3 quiznos and i have worked there for a long time. I have personally gotten many complaints but equally as many compliments on the sponge monkeys. I dont see what all the fuss is about. The whole point of the commercials is to get you to remember Quiznos and obviously everyone is remembering it.

One of my teachers knows someone who knows of the marketing people who helped design the Quizno's commercial, and they said they based the sponge monkeys on a real animal called a tarsier. If you go to google image search or something and type in "tarsier" you can see that they look kind of similar :) GO QUIZNOS
